Toilet was leaking so had a plumber come take a look. Cost to replace gasket was just over $300. Once the toilet was pulled the plumber noticed the flange was broken. Wanted to charge me an extra $590 to replace the flange. He then proceeded to argue with me about value. In the end I didn’t think the flange was worth an EXTRA $590. The plumber left, took the new gasket and still charged the original estimate despite only completing half the job and keeping all materials. It was a really awful experience. Homeowners beware.

Great customer service but prices are a bit steep! I prefer solutions rather than everything they do is based around a policy, so rather than fixing it when it can be fixed, they suggest to replace it. They also want the money right away they don’t bill you.

Over charged! took advantage of a senior won’t go back!their responses are: we are transparent! yes sure are transparently selfish bottom lines all you cared about and have no customer service nor compassion vernon’s word of mouth you won’t last long being like this. Already use ACE now that guy nick sure cares about his customers. a flick of switch or a filter change it’s 168$ just to knock on a door douche like.

They came on two occasions and could not fix the issue due to pipes possibly being frozen which is understandable. But he also didn't do much to check if it might be something else other than pipes being frozen?

The plumber suggested replacing a switch while he was there and told me it would be a better option for a jet pump? I just wanted running water again, and that switch had worked fine for 2 years but told him to do it if he thought it might fix the problem. They charged me over $700(For a $65 switch that I never really wanted)and we still had no water and no understanding of what the problem was. The plumber told me to call him back when things had thawed and he would be better able to trouble shoot. I made an appointment two weeks later when temperatures hit 9*. They gave me a window of between 12:00 and 3:00 and are clear that there is a $100 cancellation fee. The morning of the appointment they tried to get him to come that morning at 9:00...I explained that I had meetings and appointments booked all morning and I would be home for 12;00 as was planned.

At 2:00 I get a text saying sorry the visit has been cancelled because Brandon can't make it! Do I want to rescheduele for Monday? I haven't had running water for five weeks! How can I be sure that they will attend the call on Monday? Why should I trust this company based on my experience so far? I can't. They are coming to your house with the intention of charging you as much money as they can regardless of what the situation is IMO. The goal is to make money...not provide a service at a fair price. Do yourselves a favour and find a company that stands by what they say they will do. This company isn't accountable. They say one thing and do another. And they act like it is totally normal and acceptable.

So now I have to call a different plumber and start from the beginning all over.

Seriously the world is backwards these days. Use someone else if you can.

Adding this edit to respond to Bee's Knees reply. Yes I lost my temper. I haven't had running water for 5 weeks despite two visits from Bee's Knees and a canceled third visit. Can't flush the toilet, wash my clothes, do the dishes, shower...it has been a nightmare. If I miss your 3 hour window I get a $100 cancellation fee. You miss yours and I get the staff telling me I should have let them come earlier in the morning when they had a chance? But I had booked my meetings that morning so that I could be at the arranged appointment with Bee's Knees? Sorry doesn't cut it. I do apologize for losing my mind...but I don't want to support a business who makes mistakes and instead of being accountable simply says "Sorry we can't make it, try again Monday? I understand you are upset, that's why you should have met him earlier in the morning" What is that? But you will be charging clients cancellation fees right? No thanks. Stay away folks. Stay far away.

A.) That I didn't want to pay for any unneeded parts or visits.
B.) That I expected them to show up for their scheduled appointment.

If you are looking for a plumber who thinks those are unreasonable expectations...call Bee's Knees.

I only have Good Things to say about my experiences with Bees Knees, they have always been incredibly responsive, thoughtful and caring. We recently had a new furnace installed and while we needed a few days to decide on which way to go, they kept us warm with space heaters. Communication is always reliable, techs are knowledgeable and all around I find this company to have strong integrity! 5 Stars!!!

Extremely disappointed with the service and after service we received from Bees Knees. We have a 1 year old combo boiler that was not performing correctly. We called Bees Knees and made a service order for them to come out and service the boiler and do a combustion analysis test. The technicians arrived and spent 4 hours in our mechanical room looking at the boiler…I’ll repeat that… they spent 4 hours LOOKING at the boiler. They did not take it apart, nor did they service any part on the boiler. They decided that the culprit was the recirculating pump for our hot water, which did not have any issues. They said that they would not do anything further until that recirculating pump, which is less than 1 year old, was replaced with a larger one that would cost us $1500. We decided that their recommendation did not make any sense and they told us that the boiler was working “well enough” for us to have hot water and for the floors to heat but that the boiler still was not performing correctly and that the recirculating pump would need to be replaced for the combi boiler to work properly. They left and we assumed that they did something to the boiler to get it to, in their words, work well enough for now.
That evening the boiler was cutting in and out and would last for about 3 minutes of a shower before going into failsafe mode and turning off.
They pre-charged us $500 for the service call, where they didn’t even open the combi boiler up to look and see what the problem was and also didn’t perform a combustion analysis on the boiler. Those were the two things we thought we had paid for when agreeing to the technicians to come out to our house.
The most infuriating part of the whole ordeal was that when we asked to speak to a manager about the difference between work that was agreed on and work that was completed, they told us that the manager does not talk on the phone and that he is only available on Wednesdays in the middle of the day. So with us not being from Vernon, we asked if there was some way that we could talk on the phone as it would cost us time away from work and commute time back and forth from Vernon (about 40min each way). The person on the other end of the phone, who has zero authority to answer questions, repeated the same thing over and over until we decided we weren’t getting anywhere and ended the call.
We ended up calling Fox and Sons and they came out and took the combi boiler apart and talked on the phone with IBC, as that is the proper practice. IBC walked them thru a few tests and together they discovered that the brass inserts that hold the igniter on the manifold had failed and that the entire unit actually needed replacing. When the manifold cover was removed, the unit looked like it was over 10 years old and full of carbon build up.
We asked if anyone had called regarding this unit before and IBC said that this was the first time the unit in question had been diagnosed.
Long story short, the techs from Bees Knees did not perform the work that was agreed upon over the phone, and had they actually taken the manifold cover off, they would have easily seen that the igniter was not level or tight.
IBC sent out a brand new boiler and Fox and Sons installed it and everything works perfectly now… even with the recirculating pump that Bees Knees said was not compatible with our boiler.
I would not recommend Bees Knees due to the poor communication, terrible after service and how difficult they make it to talk to someone who has any type of authority to make a decision.

This business owner today sent me an email threatening to seek legal action against me if I don't take down my " defamatory" review about his business. He gave me 7 days to abide by his request. Just a quick research shows me this: "British Columbia's anti-SLAPP legislation is the Protection of Public Participation Act (PPPA), which was introduced in 2019. The PPPA protects people who are sued for expressing themselves on matters of public interest." Threatening me over a bad review ( with my opinion about his business conduct and price) is cyber bullying. Today I got a quote for the service i wanted with another plumber, Bee's knees gave me an estimate of around 2000 dollars to replace a sink and vanity, and a toilet, the other plumber quoted me around $600. Take your own conclusions....+ The other plumber and various other business that gave me estimates never charged me anything. I did pay the estimate for Bee's Knees so I could leave an honest review online, nobody will bully me to leave my opinion when I have the right as a consumer to do so.

I called for an estimate to install a sink vanity and tap. But I called a couple of months early, during the call he told me about a charge for consultation but made me understand I would be charged later ( in my understanding) once I agreed to the service. I said I'd never have called if I knew it would cost me $160 to have someone look at my sink and give me a price.
Guy came in and already tried to convince us to install something about the water pressure etc...$500, and we said we would research more then he wanted to get the " estimate money". His quote was for $2000 to install a sink and vanity and toilet. How absurd?
I have had various businesses coming to my house and give me estimated without charging me a penny.
I will never call again and hopefully people read these reviews and consider somewhere else.

Wow! We had the BEST experience working with the crew from Bee’s Knees! Having to coordinate water main shut off, and the issues that came with that, the folks at Bee’s Knees were caring and patient and we were able to get the job done! I know I am very grateful for the wonderful service, and all three plumbers I had here were amazing! We will definitely call on you again if we need plumbing work done in the future.
